WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

Hi everyone, it's me MIU!

Half-Japanese and half-Thai, I'm a free-lance semi-professional MODEL and ARTISTE based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I have lived in the UK for 12 years previous to that, where my modelling career was born in 2008.

Apart from working all over the UK and Holland, assignments have taken me to Belgium, Germany, Spain, France, Sweden, Ireland and, of course, my hometown Japan!

I started as a life model posing nude for artists in the late 90s and eventually put myself in front of the cameras as a glamour model and became involved in car shows and hostessing parties and events in the UK. Easily bored with the same old routine I like to vary my work. Today, much of my work lie with nude, fetish, alternative, and erotic art.

For more information, you can also find me on: http://www.minimiumodel.com/

I love to document all my shoots and events to reflect what a great time I'm having and meeting all sorts of people. Some entries may be delayed since the shoot due to waiting for edited images or just being "busy". But I do my best!

HOPE YOU ENJOY READING!!

Miu as Official Babe in Uniforms!

Funnily enough, I've been actually been getting quality work from quality photographers through Facebook and Flickr lately as compared to these dedicated sites like Purestorm or Net-Model which tend to be swarmed with GWCs (guys with cameras). Of course if it's paid work, who cares if it's a professional tog or a GWC haha...
One of such quality photographers who contacted me through FB was Jamie Smith, known as Red Brickwall. The name as such because his previous studio had a red brickwall! I was chuffed he wanted to work with me as I've seen his stuff featuring the most beautiful and perfect glamour models. His images are further top-notch and well-presented. To add, he was very friendly and reflected a genuine personality throughout our correspondence further enhanced when chatting to him over the phone. A very jolly and positive character. I was very much looking forward to it all!
We set up the shoot in our humble home on 20 April 2010. The main purpose was for him to shoot me in various sexy uniforms which he would post on his various websites. Sounds like fun and trust me it was! Jamie turned out with bags of interesting costumes and for the first set, I was to be an SS officer clad in a mini-skirt, a hat and a jacket elaborately adorned with all the medals and ornaments not to forget the swatzika armband! I was rather amused about that, knowing that I'm clearly not of the Aryan race... but then again Germany and Japan were once allies of course!
After spending 10-15 minutes looking mean and stern, my next role was to be a humble French maid. I was to be dusting our fireplace looking cute and sexy in my backless apron. Then a quick change to being the sweet virginal bride in white including the veil. We shot outside in the garden as the weather was gorgeous, right in front of our cherry tree. Another outfit change and now I was to be a copper! Dressed smartly in a sexy policeman's outfit, I posed in front of Jamie's BMW back to looking mean and stern. This was followed by donning myself in a racy red pit-girl outfit, again in front of the car but this time pouting seductively or smiling sultry.
Back inside, Jamie passed me two sets of tight skimpy minidresses. We had so much fun going through my infamous dressing room and choosing the shoes to go with each outfit! I opted for Steve Madden's zebra print heels, a perfect match for the zebra-patterned dress. I was to be on the bed, rolling and romping around seductively while he snapped away... gradually stripping down till I was nude. Yup, that was a no-brainer cuz I'm so accustomed to it but enjoy it loads!
Finally the piece de resistance! Jamie is currently promoting his website called officialbabe.co.uk which is still under construction, featuring hot sexy glamour models. The promotional shoot involved me posing in various crop-top and miniskirt combinations with slogans loudly blaring phrases like "Dont be Jealous". I was most honoured to be among the models! I wasn't even expecting this and had so much fun going in and out of the many outfit changes which he shot in our garage.
Jamie was quick to post up some of the images on FB the next day. Although my favourite uniform out of the lot was the SS officer we unfortunately felt compelled to delete it from FB as it may be a tad controversial. That said, I was very pleased with the images and smiled as he put up a collage of my many poses wearing the Dont be Jealous outfit in a banner-style image. Currently, he is away on business but promised to put up more when he returns. Can't wait! And hope to work with you again soon, Jamie... you're so awesome, thanks a ton!!!

Impromptu Shoot with Steve Jolliffe

I happened to be on Facebook when an announcement requiring a model in my turf at the last minute appeared. Apparently a rather unreliable model who was scheduled to shoot that evening hadn't been in contact so a replacement was being casted. Though it was called by Nigel Jepson, a photographer I worked with before at the Bunker shoot last fall, the photographer for the evening was Steve Jolliffe on Wednesday 31 March 2010. I never heard of this guy until the day, but after seeing his work I considered myself very lucky because his work is ever so awesome as you could see for yourselves...
And for a change of course, it was nice not to have to take my clothes off, let alone even my top! Steve was aiming to do some fashion though with a sensual glamour edge. Having jumped at the opportunity, I had a quick chat over the phone with him as to what to bring. Being a mere 5' tall, I was advised that some lingerie and sexy clubwear, as opposed to elegant dresses, would be best which suited me. I literally had three hours to get ready for this, during which time I had an appointment with a therapist whom I couldn't cancel so it was straight out of the door after it!!!
With the absence of my reliable satnav which got stolen a few days ago, I typically got lost... the drive should've taken 15 minutes but turned out at least TWICE the time. I panicked, I stressed and had it not been for my painstakingly applied make-up, I would've cried...but Steve was ever so patient and relaxed about it as I kept ringing him repeatedly pleading I'm lost. Well, he finally located me at a nearby hotel and so I followed his car... the shoot started an hour later than scheduled thanks to the idiot who knicked my satnav.... grrrr.
Nigel was at the studio to greet me. He part-owns/manages the place. After winding down with some some coffee, we got on with shooting. The first set was with me sitting on a black sofa in gold lame shorts and a gorgeous pink top with gold appliques I bought at a flee market in Nottinghill some years ago. I noticed how meticulous Steve was with the lighting as he and Nigel were discussing ways for the best effect which made me feel safe knowing that the results would be outstanding. Still both of them were very polite and pleasant and made me feel very much at ease. After Steve and I were happy with this set, Nigel took over and had a go with me in the same outfit but using a very white background, quite a contrast to the dark mood we have been creating.
The second set was using the same white background and bright lights with me in a beautiful lilac Agent Provocateur lingerie set (mine!) under a spider knitted wrap. I so had to wear that set which has been sitting in my underwear drawer for ages ready to be worn but I quite hadn't gotten around to it. Then came the piece de resistance. The third and final set was to be back in the dark setting but on a bed. Well, not quite ON it but more like spilling out of it! Seriously. I was to wear my posh red basque and panties I had bought in Tokyo many years ago with a pair of black holdups and heels to go with them. Though I had to lie down on the cold floor with my feet up, I was having so much fun and so looking forward to the result I couldn't care less!!!
I was very pleased with the results when Steve sent them to me. They were all very well thought-out with close attention to lighting, positioning and posing. And very classy yet sensual. Glamour with elegance and style is hard to come by these days but Steve, with the help of Nigel, clearly nailed it. Thank you guys!

Team Scorpio Modified Car Event - The Oscars

On 3 April 2010, Team Scorpio held their modified car show at the Ace Cafe in London. It was such an honour to be selected as one of the promo-girls by Adam Cassim the guy behind Team Scorpio, a London-based organisation that runs various car events, namely involving modified cars.

The event began late afternoon and continued on till around 11 when many modified cars of all shapes, sizes, colours and even noise levels were proudly displayed and admired by the public, also photographed not to forget with all the pretty girls next to them! Main purpose of this event, though, was to present awards to the owners of these cars ranging from best bodywork to best engine to loudest to even the worst car!! Though not much of an expert in cars myself (hey, I'm just a model, right?) I have to say I was rather impressed with that very loud car with all the speakers. Turn the music on, and it's blaring so loudly that not only will your ears fall off, your hair starts to blow all over the place!!! How cool is that?

Despite the rather chilly weather and even as a first timer as a promo-girl, I myself very much enjoyed it. After standing around and getting photographed with the 3 gorgeous Team Scorpio cars, we were the first to grab a Hummer and get shot in that too! I also got to meet some of the loveliest people there, especially the girls I worked with: Sherrie, Charly, Jade and Gemma. We made such a wonderful team!

I have Adam to thank. What a great guy, always on the run, no nonsense yet funny, pleasant and full of energy. He found me during a photoshoot I was doing for modified cars by chance run by Team Scorpio, and I must have made such an impression on him and his buddies that he invited me to join his team and since then we have had a photoshoot in December again and then this event. On 24 April, I will be joining the gang on a convoy road trip from South Mimms to Peterborough... whatever!! I look forward to that!

Fetish Shoot with Richard Suiters

Hi guys, sorry for this rather long silence. I've been working way too hard and travelling too much! I had my second shoot with Richard Suiters, this time at The Fetish Studio in Reading on Saturday 6 March 2010, followed by a few minutes of some bondage shoots outdoors despite the cold!
Richard is rather new to photography but very enthusiastic and serious about his stuff. In fact, I am honoured to announce that I was his first ever model he worked with, when he bravely decided to plunge from the "deep end" with outdoor nude shoots in November 2009 ("Nude in November"). Since then, we've stayed in touch giving each other advice and support. He wins my respect!
The first part of the day's shoot was at The Fetish Studio in Reading. The place is fully equipped with BDSM furniture, facilities and a selection of whips, chains, belts, cuffs, gags, clamps and God-knows-what. Wow! I brought with me a selection of PVC outfits and boots as well as uniforms with which I could play around. Whether sub or dom, I am luckily able to adapt easily to both persona as I could either be mean, fierce and "a complete bitch" one minute and vulnerable, scared and "hands on floor" the next minute. Please don't tell me I'm schizophrenic!
We covered various sets, including: being crucified to the wall and even gagged (sub), looking in the mirror holding a whip (dom) and red lingerie holding a feather whip (dom). Two hours, for which we booked the studio, went by too quickly! We packed up and decided to have some Subway Sandwich lunch before proceeding to secluded forest to do some bondage shoots. Unfortunately, it was about 3 or 4 when we got there so it was getting nippy and the sun was fading a little. Remember, this was before the clocks were going forward!
Still we were able to capture a few good images outdoors. I know I would regret it had I given up just because it was too cold outside. Firstly, we got my hands tied to a tree branch with red rope which on the images looked quite effective. We then also experimented with simulated strangulation with me having my neck tied to a branch - but dont try this at home!! Aphyxia is not my kinda thing so we weren't able to come up with genuinely convincing images though the effect was there! We would've liked to do more BDSM scenes outside but unfortunately it was getting too dark and the light was fading especially as we were under the trees. Next time, we'll know to do the reverse: shoot outdoors first and then indoors!
Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun with all this. We were both excited to do the shoot, Richard especially as it would have been his first one. He seemed rather pleased with the outcome. I would definitely like to do a similar one with him again, especially as we've familiarised ourselves with the studio and learnt our lessons about shooting outdoors! That said, we came up with at least a dozen of images I liked and am pleased to post up. Thanks so much, Rich, let's do it again!!!

Pink and Rubber Fetish Fashion with Andy Dendy

Whilst I was in Amsterdam last month, I had the pleasure to work with a fellow visitor from England. (28 February 2010) Yes, Andy Dendy whom I befriended in Facebook via a network of photographers. He happened to be around that weekend because our friend, fellow model Nathalie van den Heuvel, was having a birthday session followed by a night at a fetish club! In fact, I met Nathalie for the first time during this trip though we have been chatting on Facebook all this time...!
My image of Andy was completely different from what I had imagined. On Facebook, he is always mentioning "going to the pub" so my vision of him was some loud white-van-man type whom I expected to show up staggering with a lager in one hand. I was wrong! Apart from being sober, Andy turned out to be such a sweet, gentle, funny and friendly guy, totally harmless. And he's such an awesome photographer. I like the fact that he takes photos from interesting angles like lying on the floor so I could look like a 6' tall leggy knockout... why can't more togs do that??? They can all learn from this!!!
We had the pictures taken at Alan's house in Amsterdam, a rather spacious and well-lit flat which is a perfect location for shoots. I've never done a shoot wearing Latex before, let alone trying one on till a few days ago at a shop for the first time, so I was ever so excited!!! They are also quite expensive so I never ventured out to purchase any. Luckily, Andy brought some over with him from England for me to try on... and WOW! I see what people mean when they say Latex is second skin! It is very comfortable and makes me feel so sexy!!!
We thought we'd warm up by doing a cute Pink theme. Pink wig with pink PVC miniskirt and matching top I happened to buy a few days ago when I was shopping with Nathalie. This is supposed to be happy, cute and silly, and I had so much fun! As with latex, I've never done a shoot wearing a wig before. I quite liked the idea and thought to myself I ought to get shot in wigs more often especially in interesting colours... also quite liked the bob!
The next two sets were down to the seriously mean femme fatale look, a sharp contrast to the bubble-gum cute pink theme... I chose the black dress with the high collar to enhance the Oriental look and put my hair up in a high ponytail holding a whip and wearing a pair of high heels with studs on bottom... then for the second set I changed into another black latex dress but this time with a zipper in the front to give me a cleavage effect (I know, what cleavage?). I put on a pair of hotpink pvc gloves and let my hair down... wow, I really do love latex! If I had all the money in the world, I'd have a wardrobe full of latex outfits in all different colours... black, blue, red, yellow... pink!
I am very pleased with the outcome of the pictures, Andy. Well done! I really do look 6' tall, scary and dominating. Hope to shoot with you again sometime... perhaps with Nathalie too! Many thanks!

Shooting in the Ruins with Steve Cottle

Once cancelled because of the heavy snow in January, this shoot was rescheduled, one which I was looking forward to. Having shot at the Brighton Group Shoot last summer, I was so impressed with Steve Cottle's work that we promised to shoot again soon . He invited me over to his turf in Bath (8 February 2010) where I stayed over at his parent's the night before for an early start in various outdoors venues nearby.

Despite being quite young, Steve is quite an experienced photographer having started with nature and landscape photography and having spent some months in South Africa on holidays. He is interested in expanding his horizons more, going into glamour and art nude, as well as some alternative themes, and takes his hobby very seriously. As we are both open to new ideas and enjoy experimenting, we just went with the flow of things. Steve was even thoughtful enough to pass on some of his ideas to me prior to the shoot with sample images, and this gave me hints as to the styles of outfits and mood we could achieve.

We were originally supposed to start with shooting in a derelict fortress right across his house. However, we were so excited about rescheduling the shoot that we forgot that it was the beginning of February! The fortress was an open area with no roofs or ceilings and maybe just one wall but it certainly couldn't shield us from the cold so we moved to another venue. Steve suggested a disused iron mill which was about half-hour drive between Bath and Frome.

Having arrived there, it was a tad better but freezing!!! Part of me said I was crazy and ought to cut the shoot short than risk catching pneumonia. Another part of me was telling me to shut up and get on with it. Hell, I travelled all the way there for the weekend so why not make the most of it? And I knew if I turned away, I'd regret it... and quite rightly so because the venue was oh so perfect... a disused iron mill from centuries ago, now a beautiful stone ruin surrounded by the gorgeous greenery of the woods. I have the images above to prove it!

The first set was taken in the main "hallway" where I decided the outfit have a fetish touch to it, school girl uniform with PVC thigh high boots! This was actually inspired by one of the images Steve had sent as an idea for the shoot. The background of the ruins was perfect for this outfit! We then went to the woods where.... brrrrrr.... we thought we'd throw in a lingerie set. Violet bra and panty set from good old La Senza. Yes in the cold! Sounds crazy? Well, I next ended up taking my kit off! The picturesque greenery was just too good to miss for some nudity....and of course some naughtiness as I do get a kick out of the thrill of risk getting caught by the public LOL.

To take a break from nudity and to give my body a tad of warmth, I got into my red basque and black miniskirt, shooting in and around the woods, the trees and another piece of ruin. Ruins are indeed a wonderful backdrop for any sort of themes including fashion, fetish and nude. Again, they were too beautiful to miss for a good "art nude" shoot so once more I stripped down and "thought of Japan" (as opposed to England) as I braved through the bitter cold whilst getting my thrills!

Just as I was getting into the swing of it all, we decided to call it a day, as it unfortunately began snowing. Such a shame but we had Steve's expensive camera and lighting equipment to consider as well. Looking back, I can't believe how mad I was to shoot in such a condition. Cold weather, though, has a positive effect on outdoor images, particulary nudes. Contraction of muscles whilst shivering in the cold enhances definition and tone to one's body which is ideal in photographs. And funnily enough, it adds colour to one's complexion. As such, I was very pleased with the outcome of the images!

Steve and I will be shooting again soon definitely once the weather warms up more, when it will be his turn to come down to Horsham. Time to do some research now for ideal venues nearby! If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Meanwhile, I would like to thank Steve for his time and for making this freezing shoot actually so fun!

Visiting Jessica Evans in Breda, NL

In case you didn't notice, I disappeared to Holland in the latter part of February to visit friends, celebrate Valentines and shoot some more. One of my favourite photographer is also one of my best mates, Jessica Evans, a sweet, genuine and fun-loving American living in the Netherlands. Certainly well worth a two-hour journey from Amsterdam to Breda!

Jessica is very dedicated to her work and is known for taking beautiful pictures and with very skillful retouching churns out images to perfection whilst making them look natural as possible. Also, she is another one which brings out the "cuteness" in me.... that's cuz the first time she shot me last year, all she could say when looking at her viewfinder was "OMG, this is soooo cute"! Hmmm, till then, I never thought about myself as being "cute" at least in the pictures... honest!!!

My primary reason for visiting was to see Jessica and "hang out". As we both live in different countries we hardly see each other so it was good to catch up and do the Ladies who Lunch at the local Subways! We then went back to hers and watched "Little Britain" but got bored with it so decided to shoot! Luckily I brought some stuff just in case and loaded my face with makeup in the bus on my way over. I so had to get into that pretty bra & suspender set I bought on sale at Agent Provocateur... except they didn't have any matching knickers in my size so I improvised by adding a pair of black thongs from American Apparel!

As the daylight was waning, we couldn't shoot much in natural light which would otherwise have been ideal. After trying in various places in her study with little success, Jessica came up with a pivotal idea: her en-suite bathroom! All covered in white tiles to lighten up the room, we figured it would do as she brought her soft-box lighting... How fun that was!!! And original too...cramming ourselves in the bathroom, squeezing her and the lighting equipment between the washbasin and bathtub with me posing... in a wetroom shower!!! And with very limited arm movements for me as the setting was so compact... ha ha!

In the end though, we were both pleased with the outcome. The boldness of the green and black lingerie contrasted well with the "clinical" white tiles in the bathroom. Even the shower in the background added some accent to the image without being obstrusive. Now, combine that with a cheeky smile, and there you have it! I'm always pleased with the results when working with Jessica...in fact quite a number of togs and models in the U.K. are very impressed with her work and have asked me about her. So there you go, girl, keep up the wonderful work... you certainly bringing out the smiles, the sexy, the sultry and the cute!
