Hi everyone! It's been quite a while since I last posted some stuff. I've been taking a sort of career break for personal reasons, including a family bereavement. On 1 March 2012, my beloved mother sadly passed away in London. She was only 79. Being an only child and mum single-handedly bringing me up since I was 12, we had our good and bad days like any mother-daughter relationships. But she meant the world to me, and she always will. Not a day goes by when I think of her and try holding my tears back.
As you can imagine, I was not in the mood to do any modelling at all. I needed time to get settled with the aftermath and wait till am emotionally ready. While the grief will still continue for some time, I am now coming to terms with the loss. I need to be strong and move on although mum will always be in my heart.
Much of my work will now be based in the Netherlands. With mum gone, I have very little reason to be in the UK. That said, a "UK Tour" is being considered once I am better settled. Meanwhile, I would like to start networking even more out here and expand further into the Continent. I am due to be in Japan in July for a few weeks so would definitely like to pick up where I left off, too.
I have surely a big of a backlog of entries I like to post up. You will hence be hearing from me more soon! Meanwhile it now takes getting used to this new format of posting blogs although I must say it's more streamlined and user-friendlier. Just to let you know, too, my Flickr account has become "restricted" viewing as opposed to "safe" so if you want to browse through it, you have to sign in but it's free. I am also considering creating my own Flickr-style website which incorporates a wide range of images. At least no one can tell me to flag the images!
The above photograph was taken in the upscale shopping district of Ginza in Tokyo. It was taken back in September 2011. The photographer wishes to retain anonymity for professional reasons but whoever you are, thank you for producing this wonderful work for us!
