WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

Hi everyone, it's me MIU!

Half-Japanese and half-Thai, I'm a free-lance semi-professional MODEL and ARTISTE based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I have lived in the UK for 12 years previous to that, where my modelling career was born in 2008.

Apart from working all over the UK and Holland, assignments have taken me to Belgium, Germany, Spain, France, Sweden, Ireland and, of course, my hometown Japan!

I started as a life model posing nude for artists in the late 90s and eventually put myself in front of the cameras as a glamour model and became involved in car shows and hostessing parties and events in the UK. Easily bored with the same old routine I like to vary my work. Today, much of my work lie with nude, fetish, alternative, and erotic art.

For more information, you can also find me on: http://www.minimiumodel.com/

I love to document all my shoots and events to reflect what a great time I'm having and meeting all sorts of people. Some entries may be delayed since the shoot due to waiting for edited images or just being "busy". But I do my best!

HOPE YOU ENJOY READING!!

Still going through a dry but relaxing spell from shooting. Blame it on the snow, sorting out accounts and reluctance to reschedule till the weather settles... I have meanwhile been going through my past images and came across quite a few Oldies but Goodies... how time flies!!
A year ago... January 2008...I had a fantastic shoot with Gary Baxter, aka Morganbear, who had found me through Net-Model and is based about 40 minutes away from me, near Farnham. Gary is such a pleasant photographer with a lovely house and wife, Michelle, who was kind enough to feed me and assist with the shoot.
I can't believe how well the images turned out and looking back even now, I'm still amazed at how upmarket and classy they are even though they are glamour shots and still manage to look sexy and sensual... the gloves, the basque and the beautiful diamante necklace Michelle had lent me! I had just trained as a makeup artist and hairsylist back then so the hair and make up were quite classic, nothing trashy or cheap. Something your mom would approve of! I really ought to do more of those kind of shoots for a change soon... take a break from the attention-grabbing in-your-face glamour images... not that I don't enjoy that too of course...!
I have since gotten in touch with Gary recently who is keen on doing more photography and has been busy building up a studio in his home, scheduled for completion in a few weeks.... Can't wait! We plan on shooting again definitely once the studio is up and running.... watch this space!!!

First Shoot of the Decade

Just before all the fiasco with the snow, I had my first shoot of the year, of the decade in fact, with renowned photographer, Keith Curtis, on 5 January 2010. It is my second one in fact with him. The first time he showed interest in working with me, I was chuffed! Keith has photographed a lot of beautiful people, especially famous ones, namely Page Three girls, sports people, actors/actresses... I have to admit I myself was very nervous... BUT he turned out to be the one of most pleasant, gentle and down-to-earth guy!

I took the train to Southampton which unsurprisingly made me arrive an hour late but he was fine about it though it meant having to cut our shooting time a tad shorter as I had a long trip back home. During our first shoot in October, we did our usual sultry and fun glamour images and then experimented on the artsy themes... but we discovered that almost all the images were either topless, see-thru or nude which would be unsuitable to post on sites such as Facebook!

So this time, we thought we'd spend the first half of the shoot producing modest "FB-friendly" images in catsuits, lingerie and wacky yet sexy fashion mainly involving PVC and lace. Then we looked through some books and got some ideas for some creative shoots which Keith and I wished to explore as it's very different from his usual style of glamour photography.

We had so much fun! First was Keith producing some purple velvety cloth and putting it over my head but with the holes cut up for my eyes, nose and mouth. I was to be executioner! I had to look very stern and scary carrying a whip, which for me was also a challenge to my usual smiling self! Then we experimented with images in which I would be wearing a pair of boots on my hands and feet and develop myself into an four-legged creature, a je ne sais quoi as one would say... We worked on a lot of dark serene moods in attempt to create something alternative. Both of us are rather new to this sort of thing so we had so much fun!

Above is one of our creations of the day.... I am waiting for more images to be edited and can't wait to post them up soon! WELL DONE, KEITH, LET'S DO IT AGAIN!!! But once the snow is gone of course!

Gym Bunny

Ho hum... My UK tour has officially been postponed till further notice due to Health & Safety concerns with this very adverse weather condition the country has been facing the last few days. Cars skidding all over the place, trains in havoc, business stops, life on hold and people on the verge of going amok as being housebound with nowhere to go and nobody to visit! Wow, even the rubbish hasn't been collected as our wheelie bins sit there overflowing on our snow-covered driveways. Sound familiar?
By the same token, I've been on Facebook and these modelling websites lolzing at all the models and togs desperate to jump the bandwagon to get shoots outside in the snow. Some want to brave swimwear and skimpies, while others dare to be bare. WHAT COPYCATS, ha ha!!! Well, guys, been there done that already! Waaaay before Christmas, way before you lot decided it was a bright idea and remember, you thought I was crazy back then! On the other hand, I do feel a tad envious of those who were able to get the opportunity this weekend cuz it would've been so cool to get more shoots done. Maybe this time get more sexy bikini ones without the Santa hat... or even lingerie... imagine suspenders & stockings!!!
So here I am still at home, bored to tears as anyone would be. Can't go anywhere and no one to visit little me. Shopping sprees are out although on-line companies ought to be making a killing by now. I've been surviving on instant soba noodles and tins of cassoulet and pate we stocked up on our last trip to France.... I walk to the local SPAR (eek!) to buy my F&V to satisfy my 5-a-day....but luckily....
I'm within walking distance to our local gym which by the way has miraculously been open despite the weather! Well at least not everything in England has come to a standstill!!! Without this Godsend, I'd be going even more insane than I already am, putting on a dress size or two cuz I'm sitting on my ass all day... and we so cant have that, I'm a model for God's sake!!! Determined not to turn out a fat overweight psycho, I have been treading in the snow for 15 minutes each way to the gym, doing my weights, followed by 30-4o minutes cardio of running or cross-training and finishing it off with abs. Woo! And after a brisk walk home, into the shower and getting all warm and toasty....
So! I decided to dig out some oldies but goodies...of some past pictures of little fit gym bunny me taken in our home garage last year. About the same time last year, Lester Coates came voer and shot me doing some weights and sitting on a fitball in the nude. Then later on in the year, summertime, Paul Langridge came over and took some stuff of me wearing NOTHING but my boxing gloves! Thought I'd like to share them with you... I think they're awesome pictures, so happy and as you can see I had so much fun!!! IT'S FUN TO BE FIT TOO!!!

Starkers in the Snow

Yes, it sucks being stuck in the snow. Yesterday, I went for a shoot down in Southampton (which by the way went very well). It wasn't snowing when I finished the shoot but once I got on the home-bound train at 19:12, I noticed that halfway through the journey, it was snowing like hell.... the ground was covered with inches of this white powder, the snow just wouldn't stop! Luckily it was a direct train with very little interruptions and I was actually pleasantly surprised the journey continued till my destination!
Today, I was stuck at home. Couldn't go out for a run and couldn't go to the gym as I could neither walk nor drive in this condition. I was very frustrated. Looks like my make up job with famous Czech glamour/porn star Nella in London isn't happening tomorrow. Then I've got a number of shoots booked up in Bath and Birmingham and no one knows what's happening. I'll be very very gutted though secretly relieved cuz TBH, I'm not too sure how well the trains will be running and I sure don't want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere!
So... instead of being angry, I think I should think of the fun side of snow! BEING PHOTOGRAPHED IN THE NUDE OUT IN THE SNOW!!! Well, actually it was right before Xmas. A local tog called Lester Coates texted me one morning to ask if I fancied doing a nudey shoot outdoors. I was like, YESSS!!!! I so had to do it. If I don't, I know I'd regret it. So here I was, standing starked naked in the middle of the forest, covering up whenever I could, shivering and patiently smiling but was like "c'mon hurry up" whilst he'd leisurely switch lenses or realise his memory card was full! Did a few cute Santa hat and red bikini shoots for my Xmas theme images, then moved onto my birthday suit....
You can see more on my flickr site too: http://www.flickr.com/photos/minimiu/ Lemme know what you think!!!

Miu on a UK Tour!!!

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!! It's 2 January, and I'm so excited about my blog page :) After Xmas and New Years Break, I'm going to have a busy week... Tuesday shooting with Keith Curtis in Southampton, Wednesday off, Thursday makeup job in London, Friday off, Saturday glamour shoot with Steve Cottle, Sunday a nudey shoot with Ben Katt in Birmingham and Monday another glamour/nude/lads mag shoot with Fast Eddie.
So here I am trying to shed off the excess I had put on during the festive season (shhhh) after taking 4 long days off from the gym or running because I was stranded up in Scotland in the snow... :(
I look forward to what 2010 brings to me but I promise to take it easy!!! No more applying to casting calls (too depressing), no more timewasters and chasing up some photographers who owe me images!!! You know who you are....
